Arabella Advisors Staff

Arabella Advisors staff assist CJRF in the grantmaking due diligence process. In many cases, Arabella Advisors staff will work on behalf of the CJRF to coordinate grant agreements and any potential due diligence concerns with grant applicants.


Kate Mitchell

Kate Mitchell is an educator, manager and advocate with multi-sector experience excited to be driving operations-focused work for social change initiatives. Before teaching in public school for five years, she managed partnership development efforts for education and health access projects at MDC, a capacity-building organization advancing equity in the American South. Working across a portfolio of 3-5 projects, she provided on-site community coaching, tool development, technical assistance, and grants management to coalitions of community-based organizations, local governments, and major philanthropic funders. She also developed curricula for institutional learning at MDC as a founding member of the Racial Equity team and served as a Chapter Leader for the national nonprofit Resource Generation, where she organized young people with wealth and class privilege to fight for an equitable distribution of land, wealth and power. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Duke University and a Master of Social Work with a Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She lives with her daughter in Durham, North Carolina.


Stefan Mesarovich

Stefan Mesarovich is a program associate based in Chicago. He supports a portfolio of advocacy, civil rights, social action, and equity projects. As a former field organizer, Stefan recognizes the need for progressive outreach and engagement strategies in diverse communities. Most recently, he completed a Master’s degree in Public Policy so that he could better advance progressive values and ideals through direct action. Growing up in an immigrant family and diverse community, Stefan values a wide range of ideas and cultures. Stefan is excited to use his background in organizing, fundraising, and education to help create a more equitable society.


Madeleine Munn

Madeleine Munn (she/her) is a Program Assistant on the Managed Organizations team in Arabella’s Durham office. She supports a variety of nonprofits, including New Venture Fund, a 501(c)(3) public charity and the Sixteen Thirty Fund, a separate 501(c)(4). Madeleine’s professional background is in public policy, specifically child welfare policy and child support reform. She has also worked in political consulting and is an active leader in a new nonprofit called Kalos Academy. She holds a BA in Public Policy from New York University. She resides in the Durham, NC area.
