Potential Grantees

Thank you for your work to address climate change. You are not alone. Due to overwhelming interest in our funding opportunities, we can no longer respond to unsolicited letters of inquiry. The Climate Justice Resilience Fund (CJRF) now operates with an invitation-only grantmaking process. We work through our global and regional networks to find applicants whose work complements our existing grants in order to achieve the objectives identified in our regional strategies.

For organizations invited to submit, CJRF has a rigorous due diligence and selection process that examines proposed activities, objectives, budget, the applicant’s history and leadership, and organization financials. Our process includes an application form, narrative, budget, and one-on-one discussions with CJRF staff. CJRF takes a collaborative approach to working with potential grantees on the proposal process, with the aim of supporting strong, well-developed projects that scale solutions for climate resilience.

After completing the process, the CJRF Review Board recommends funding decisions to the New Venture Fund Board of Directors. Applicants who submit a full proposal can expect funding decisions within four months of their completed application process.
